Richard L. Call, D.M.D., M.S.

Dr. Call graduated from Washington University, School of Dental Medicine, in 1975 and has been practicing General Dentistry in Thornton, CO for over 33 years. Concerned with access to care issues, he completed a Master Degree from the University of CO, School of Medicine Health Administration Program in 1977. He served on the full-time faculty of the CU School of Dental Medicine for over 20 years while maintaining his practice in Thornton, developing a number of programs to improve access to care. He continues to teach part-time and is a member of the ADA, CDA, MDDS, and is a Fellow in the International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He is active in international humanitarian dental projects, serves as a consultant to the Colorado State Board of Dental Examiners and is a Technical Advisor/Trainer to the "Cavity Free at Three" collaborative effort of six Colorado health funders. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of Trustees of Delta Dental of CO and is on the Board of Directors of the Delta Dental of CO Foundation.

Brian R. Kelly, D.D.S.

Dr. Kelly received his baccalaureate from Hunter College, Summa Cum Laude, in New York City. He received his doctorate from the University of CO School of Dentistry, Cum Laude. He has practiced at The Dental Center since 1995. Prior to going into dentistry, Dr. Kelly performed in four Broadway musicals and still occassionally performs in shows at the Arvada Center. Dr. Kelly has been married for 19 years to Nanci Young and they have two daughters, Lorraine, 13 yrs. and Vanessa, 6 yrs. An avid runner, Dr. Kelly has completed marathons in 27 states to date.

Mark P. Smith, D.D.S.

Born and raised on a farm in eastern Washington state, Dr. Smith completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah in 1983. Prior to that, he served for two years as a missionary for the LDS church in southern Argentina. Upon graduation from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in Seattle in 1987, he moved to Colorado.

Dr. Smith loves the practice of dentistry and has been a partner at The Dental Center for over 20 years. He enjoys memberships in numerous professional organizations and study clubs, including the American Dental Association and the Metropolitan Denver Dental Society. Mark is married to his charming wife, Annette, and has three beautiful daughters. A lover of all things outdoors, including snowboarding, climbing, and scuba-diving, he is particularly passionate about road and mountain biking.

Jonathan L. Olivier, D.D.S.

Dr. Olivier received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of CO in 2002. He received his Bachelors of Sciences in Molecular Biology from Brigham Young University in 1997 prior to being accepted to Dental School in 1998. He has enjoyed working at The Dental Center since July 2002. It has truly been a great place to practice dentistry and couldn't ask for better partners or staff to associate with. He is a member of the Colorado Prosthodontic Society and the local 5280 Study Club.

He has been married to his wonderful wife, Sara, since October 1997. They have been blessed with three wonderful children, Seth (4), Elizabeth (22 months), and Eva (4 months). Dr. Olivier enjoys staying active by playing basketball, softball, hiking 14ers and spending time with his family.

We have five licensed hygienists serving our patients. Our hygienists are a valuable component of our commitment to quality dentistry. A hygienist is a trained and licensed professional who has completed a college degree in dental hygiene, obtaining either an associates or bachelors degree. Dental Hygienists are specialists in the prevention and early treatment of periodontal disease and are invaluable in assisting patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health. Education and prevention is a critical focus of our office and our hygienists are specifically trained to educate and assist you, our patient, to achieve and maintain your oral health.

We encourage you, when possible, to see the same hygienist each time you come. This approach not only allows you to have a personal relationship with your preventive care provider, but also allows for more complete evaluation of your improvements over time.

Machelle
I am a native of Colorado and have been working at The Dental Center since 1984. I graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene. In my time off I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family and dog.

Colleen
I am a native of Colorado, "literally", how many people can say that? I have been a part of the dental community for over 23 years and an employee of The Dental Center for the past 15 years. While working here as a Dental Assistant opportunity knocked and I had a chance to further my education. I graduated with my degree in Dental Hygiene in the year 2000 with the support of The Dental Center and remain loyally employed.

Joan
I have been with The Dental Center since 1996. I graduated from the St. Louis Community College Dental hygiene program in 1976. I have taken many continuing education programs with an emphasis in periodontics (gum disease) and implants. When not at work, I can be found on my small ranch fixing or petting something. I also enjoy tropical vacations whenever I can get away.

Tanya
I first worked at The Dental Center as an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant. After graduating in 2005 from the Community College of Denver, I returned to The Dental Center as a Dental Hygienist. In my spare time you can find me on a beach!!

Mindy
I am a Dental Hygienist employed at The Dental Center. I have over 20 years of experience in the dental field. I developed an interest in the hygiene field working at a dental office while attending college. I hold an Associate Degree of Science and a Dental Hygiene degree from the Community College of Denver. I earned my Dental Hygiene license in June 2000.

Our dental assistants are invaluable in the delivery of good dental care and they are the first line of defense against tooth and gum disease. We have a great staff of five trained dental assistants who work with all of our dentists. They help to prepare our patients for dental procedures and can answer questions about oral health.

They assist the doctor chairside in all dental procedures from crowns to extractions. They are responsible for taking radiographs, impressions, making temporary crowns, arranging laboratory cases, the maintenance of supplies and equipment, and keeping strict adherence to OSHA sterilization/disinfection protocols.

Kevin
I am a native to Colorado and have always loved living here. The Dental Center has been my second home for 26 years. I started working with Dr. Call in 1979 and have had the pleasure of working with so many other individuals over the years. My duties at The Dental Center are vast.....chairside assistant, equipment repair, front office assistant, supply ordering.....the list is endless. It is a great place to work!

April
I graduated from PIMA for Dental Assisting. I joined The Dental Center team in October 2000. I have been assisting Dr. Smith since I started. From time to time I get a chance to work with the other doctors.

Louise
I am a "semi-native" born in Salt Lake City, Utah. My career in dentistry as a Dental Assistant has spanned over 33 years, with the last 14 years at The Dental Center. I usually assist Dr. Olivier and Dr. Call; we have enjoyed many seasons together!

Melissa
I graduated from the PIMA Medical Institution for Dental Assisting and have been at The Dental Center for 4 years now. I primarily assist Dr. Kelly, but work with the other doctors as well.

Meghan
I am the newest member of The Dental Center staff assisting Dr. Kelly. I have a license as a practical nurse and spend my weekends caring for patients. When not at work I love spending time with my amazing family.

Our front office staff is here to assist you with your scheduling needs, insurance questions, as well as accounting and billing concerns. Someone is always available during regular office hours to answer your questions. However, you can leave a personal message for any one of us on our individual voice mail at any time, and we will be happy to return your call.

Joy
I have had the pleasure of working at The Dental Center as the Office Manager since 1986. We were just a very small group then and have grown to what we are today. The Dental Center has also been like my "home away from home", having established many friendships. When I am not here I enjoy spending time with a great husband of 40 years and my son and daughter. I love to read a good book and travel, with Hawaii being my favorite place to visit.

I have been a receptionist and team member at the Thornton Dental Center for 14 years. I enjoy being a part of the Front Office staff because I get to be the first person to see our great patients. I have a 21 year old daughter and a 15 year old son. I am a native of Colorado and enjoy hiking and everything our great outdoors has to offer.

I have been a receptionist with The Dental Center almost 4 years now. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, outdoor activities, and reading a good book.
